Last weekend, I finished the Season One of “Severance”. I haven’t watched series for a while, but guys, “Severance” really got me. Awesome plot and deep storylines, reminding me the good old day sci-fi books. The final episode really left me craving for Season two, it’s painful.
So I binged watched a hell lot of youtube videos disucssion about the plot and characters. Then I came across a Reddit thread “Books like Severance”, finding out I’m not alone. Everyone wants more!
I went through the thread and picked up some books that are highly recommended. So, Here’re the books I plan to read in the following months (while waiting, patiently, for season two)
- “Severance” by Ling Ma
- “Stories of Your Life and Others” by Ted Chiang
- “Permutation City” by Greg Egan – some people say it won’t be a coincidence that the Lumon family is named “Egan”
- “14” by Peter Clines
- “Time Out of Joint” by Philip K. Dick – it’s said that everything written by Philip Dick won’t go wrong, let’s try it
I’m actually surprised this would be my first article on the website. Anyway, I hope to build a place where I can brain dump all my thoughts, books I’m reading (and planning to read), and things I’m doing right now. Like a diary, but in public.
